After an initial carreer in a whole different direction, Kathleen Deboutte decided to pursue her true passion.
She completed the entrepreneurial trainings in both Fashion Design and Patternmaking at Syntra (Brussels) with Lucrèce Van Haerents (Patrotek), but soon became intrigued by the narrative power of clothing.
Consequently she focused on Costume Design and Construction, following intensive courses at Central Saint Martin’s (London), amongst others.
In the mean time she designed and realized a variety of costumes for several theme events and works as a designer for various events, a.o. the Hoppestoet Poperinge .
Besides her activities as a designer and pattern developer, she teaches artisanal realization and construction techniques, which she considers the backbone of experimental design.
